The Utilization of Sentinel-1 Soil Moisture Satellite Imagery for Runoff Coefficient Analysis

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract Soil moisture content can provide information about the relationship between runoff coefficient and water availability to increase agricultural productivity measure potential erosion rates. Observation of soil sometimes cannot be directly measured. Therefore, study was conducted develop practical monitoring techniques using Sentinel-1 satellite images. Moisture measurements obtained from image are pre-processed through Sentinel Application Platform (SNAP), which is then processed Dubois model get permittivity value backscatter (σ◦). The Topp’s model. gravimetric methods in situ tests were used validate estimation processing. Based on this research, provides a solution for moisture. shows greater value, higher will obtain. This proves that developed land valley condition has high coefficient. A susceptibility Sites with similar characteristics need consider appropriate cover ensure sustainability conservation while still benefiting activities.

Volumetric soil moisture estimation using Sentinel 1 and 2 satellite images

Surface soil moisture is an important variable that plays a crucial role in the management of water and soil resources. Estimating this parameter is one of the important applications of remote sensing. One of the remote sensing techniques for precise estimation of this parameter is data-driven models. In this study, volumetric soil moisture content was estimated using data-driven models, suppor...

Use of Satellite Data for Soil Moisture Analysis at Ecmwf

Land surface processes and their initialization are of crucial importance to address the challenge of seamless (from weather to seasonal) Numerical Weather Prediction (NWP). In particular it has been found that soil moisture influences the landatmosphere exchange processes on all relevant time scales. It is therefore expected to be of high interest for NWP applications to assimilate new satelli...

Soil moisture estimation in a semiarid watershed using 3 RADARSAT - 1 satellite imagery and genetic programming

6 [1] Soil moisture is a critical element in the hydrological cycle especially in a semiarid 7 or arid region. Point measurement to comprehend the soil moisture distribution 8 contiguously in a vast watershed is difficult because the soil moisture patterns might 9 greatly vary temporally and spatially. Space-borne radar imaging satellites have been 10 popular for they may exhibit all-weather ob...

An Overview of the “Triangle Method” for Estimating Surface Evapotranspiration and Soil Moisture from Satellite Imagery

An overview of the ‘triangle’ method for estimating soil surface wetness and evapotranspiration fraction from satellite imagery is presented here. The method is insensitive to initial atmospheric and surface conditions, net radiation and atmospheric correction, yet can yield accuracies comparable to other methods. We describe the method first from the standpoint of the how the triangle is obser...

Soil Moisture Retrieval and Spatiotemporal Pattern Analysis Using Sentinel-1 Data of Dahra, Senegal

The spatiotemporal pattern of soil moisture is of great significance for the understanding of the water exchange between the land surface and the atmosphere. The two-satellite constellation of the Sentinel-1 mission provides C-band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) observations with high spatial and temporal resolutions, which are suitable for soil moisture monitoring. In this paper, we aim to ass...
